Geogrid design

Volumetric geogrid is a honeycomb structure, which consists of polyethylene tapes 1.5 mm thick, fastened together with high-strength seams staggered. When stretched in the working surface forms a vertically and horizontally stable frame which is designed to fix the filler (sand, gravel, concrete, etc.).

Geogrid material is made from polyethylene of low and high pressure. This material is non-toxic, resistant to aggressive environments and UV, oil, alkali-proof, resistant to dirt environment, to salt and fresh water. These properties save characteristics of the material over a long operating period.

Geogrid is transported in a folded state and occupies a small volume.

Geogrid installation:

Geogrid is attached by means of L-shaped anchors 12-16 mm and a length 0,6-1,2m made of steel or high-strength plastic materials. The anchors are set along the contour of each geogrid module to ensure its correct stretching in a rectangle. Interconnected modules can also be fastened with steel straps.

Between the geogrid base and the soil surface (in the case of filling the frame with rubble) it is recommended to stack the separating and draining layer of non-woven geotextile of density 200-400 g / m.

As the filler for cells volumetric geogrids the soil, rubble and concrete are used with frost resistance not less than the M200.
